The AnyTone AT-5888UV is a 50 Watt dual band 2M-440 FM mobile transceiver covering 2 meters and 440 MHz
The AT-5888UV is a ruggedly-built, high quality Dual Band FM transceiver providing 50 Watts of power output on the VHF band and 40 Watts on the UHF band. It has many advanced charactistics like a cross band repeat function, a direct-flow heat sink and thermostatically-controlled cooling fan to maintain a safe temperature for the transceiver's circuits.
The AT-588UV has four independent receiving bands, consist of UU, UV,VU,VV providing dual receive and dual output, plus the reception of AM/FM air band, marine band, PMR, etc. The AT-5888UV is also able to receive FM/TV radio and analogue TV signal. It has 758 memory channels, full duplex operation with independent volume and squelch controls, optional compander and built in CTCSS/ DCS, DTMF, 5TONE, 2TONE squelch control and signaling and a detachable front panel for a flexible installation.
With a friendly design for the user, this transceiver is technically complicated and some features may be new to you. This wiki manual can guide you through the learning process and act as an always available online reference.
Features added for final-production radios: (as of Feb 2013)
- Updated Microphone -- Added a built-in speaker in mic's front & a switch to defeat the Channel Up/Down button (which was easy to accidently hit). This switch was also supposed to lock all buttons on the mic, but not sure about that yet.
- Updated Firmware -- Several menu functions have been added. See the owner's manual for all functions.
